Bringing the blooms to you

The Make Lemonade private floral workshop process

We’re so happy that you’re interested in having us along to hold a private flower-arranging class! Here are all the ins and outs you need to know.

As with all of our services, floral workshops are super customizable, depending on your needs.

  1. Inquire

Fill in the inquiry form with all the essential details, including the date for your workshop, number of participants, and a bit about your event, to give us a feel for the project.

  2. We’ll be in touch

You’ll get a friendly automated email to notify you that your inquiry has come through to us, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible to arrange the next steps.

  3. We’ll talk via video call

For workshops, we always like to jump on a call, because we’ll want to know if we’re a good fit on both sides, especially if we’ll be coming into your home. This is a good chance to chat about any ideas and to finalize the details - are there specific colours or flowers that represent the brand, bride or birthday-person? Are there any flowers you don’t want?

  4. Cost & booking in

We’ll send over pricing along with the outline of the project, with dates and locations, and once we’re all agreed, a deposit is paid and you’re booked in. For a rough idea of cost, take a look here.

  5. We bring the blooms

We’ll arrive at your chosen location with all the gorgeous flowers you could dream of, and the workshop will run a little like this:

    • We’ll arrive roughly 30 minutes before the workshop starts, to set up.
    • You’ll provide a table(s) or open space.
    • We bring everything needed for the workshop, including fresh flowers, a unique vase for each of your guests to take home, snips to design with, and a take-home box for easy flower transportation.
    • Most floral workshops take 1-1.5 hours, overall.
    • It'll get a little messy, but we'll do all the tidying up at the end.
•Take home your floral vase arrangements, with flower care instruction cards.

We come to you

One of the best things about a Make Lemonade private flower-arranging class is that it’s basically a mobile workshop. We’re not tied to a specific venue - we come to you, as long as you’re in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area.

Only the best blooms

We bring the most beautiful fresh, local, in-season flowers in a colour scheme of your choosing, along with a unique vase that each participant can take home and enjoy.

An eco-conscious approach

We never use toxic flower foam in our vase arrangements, as we want to take the best care of the environment, as well as the lovely people we have in our flower-arranging classes.

  • Nurture Retreat

“This Spring, Rachel facilitated a floral workshop at my creative retreat, Nurture. Not only did the workshop teach us the tangible skills of how to work with flowers, it also paved the way for deeper lessons: surrounding oneself with beauty is healing; mistakes are invitations; our biggest dreams are worth paying attention to.

When you hire her to provide blooms for your event, you are investing in someone who knows her own soul who just so happens to speak in flowers. This depth of creative expression is a beautiful, invaluable thing that makes any event (and anyone attending) feel more alive and attuned with what is being celebrated. Rachel and her flowers are magic.”

  • Client Appreciation Workshop

“Rachel helped our team with a client event and it was a HUGE success. It was educational, fun, and most importantly everyone went home with their own beautiful bouquet. Beautiful flowers, and she shared so many helpful tips and tricks. I would definitely recommend working with Rachel for anyone looking for an engaging and creative workshop!”

  • Private Bachelorette Party

“We had the most incredible time working with Rachel and Make Lemonade! We hosted a bachelorette party that started with an intimate flower floral workshop and it was 1000% the highlight of the day. Rachel was so easy to work with. She asked for our flower preferences and then showed up with a beautiful, full, and carefully thought-out selection of flowers.

Rachel has wonderful energy and is so easy to be around. She seamlessly fit into our group and was so lovely to chat with. She was incredibly knowledgeable and a great teacher. I surprised myself with the arrangement I was able to create with her guidance. Her presence wasn’t overpowering but she was engaged and made helpful suggestions to each of us the whole time to help us create beautiful arrangements.

She even showed us several tricks to enhance underrated flowers - thank you so much, Rachel! I highly, highly recommend Make Lemonade for your next event!”

Created with care, passion & optimism

From flower school student to floristry workshop teacher ✂️

Like a lot of small business owners, my journey isn’t linear, but what makes me stand out is my eternal optimism and passion for colour. From the opening (and closing) of my coworking office, crafting email magic, to whipping up unique floral creations, good design is at the heart of everything I do.

With a degree in fine arts, a sharp set of snips, and an eye for design, I jumped at the opportunity to go to Toronto Flower School to scratch an itch. The itch became a full-on career switch and I’m so glad I made it.

Teaching others a snippet of what I learnt at flower school and chatting about beautiful blooms is one of my favourite things about Make Lemonade.
